30 September 2005 - 7 December 2005
The exhibition was part of the joint project (including a symposium, a retrospective and an exhibition) on the occasion of Konrad Wolf′s (1925 - 1983) 80th birthday. The director belongs to the most important artists of GDR film history and held the office of the President of the Academy of Arts of the GDR.
The exhibition on the works of Konrad Wolf delivered insight into his working and artistic methods on the basis of seven selected films. Among them: his most autobiographical film "Ich war 19" (1968) and the banned film "Sonnensucher" (1958/1972).
The presented items included documents containing historical research, location photos, film and production stills, excerpts from the diary of cameraman Werner Bergmann, meeting protocols by assistant director Doris Borkmann, notes by Wolf and autobiographical material. Excerpts from "Porträt per Telefon", a telecast that was very popular at that time, showed Wolf during a conversation with Heinz Florian Oertel, the most favoured sports journalist of the GDR. This was Wolf′s last public appearance.
