These are the eyes of a seductress: Gerda Maurus, born on 25 August 1903 in Croatia, became famous as an actress with the Ufa films "Spione" (1928) and "Die Frau im Mond" (1929). Director Fritz Lang fell in love with her when she worked as his main actress and even took her to his apartment in Berlin – this was the end of his marriage with screenwriter Thea von Harbou. When Lang emigrated in 1933, beautiful Gerda was seen in Goebbel′s parlour. Friedrich Wolf, communist playwright and father of outstanding DEFA director Konrad Wolf, also temporarily took the bait of her charme. On 30 July 1968, Gerda Maurus died in Düsseldorf.
Her fascinating glance still strikes us today.
