The photo archive comprises approximately 400,000 photos and 150,000 negatives, most notably from Ufa and GDR film history. Numerous pictures document the development of the Babelsberg studio area from beginnings to present.
In addition, there are approximately 200,000 stills of foreign films, mainly from Eastern Europe.

GDR film history accounts for a large part of the photo collection.

People
Around 160,000 pictures show actors and celebrities from the film business.
